Dice Kingdom

GMTK 2022 Jam game, theme Roll of the dice.
This game is kingdom builder only using dice roll and resource tracking as mechanics. Most simulator type city/kingdom builders are just tons of dice rolls and resources moving around controlled by games mechanics and player. In this game only interaction player has is what dice you buy. Technically this game could be replicated quite easily with just tons dice, paper and pen. Goal creating this game was to take this to more extreme scale. Difficulty is high on purpose so players need to thing their purchases more and build stable economy to avoid death spirals to ruin.
Controls:
Space to roll!
Dice build buttons have their key binds (1,2,3,Q, etc)
Z: toggle upkeep/cost
Shift: build 5x at time
No key rebinding.
Mechanics:
Each die produces their color resource on roll. Dice have upkeep on multiple resources. Upkeeps are counted as integers and are not rounded (0.9 = 0 5.3 = 5) Random die is removed for each upkeep not paid. Big dice produce their color dice instead of resources. You get new dice and resources as you progress. Wonder tier is last tier (orange), you can count this as winning the game. Orange dice produce random big dice.
